15/04/2013: GUAM LEGISLATURE PRESENTS RESOLUTION TO PHILIPPINE CONSUL

The 32nd Guam Legislature presented a Resolution to Consul Maria Paz Cortes, congratulating her on her recent designation as Consul and expressing appreciation for her service to the island of Guam, particularly to the Filipino community on island. Serving her sixth year on island, Consul Cortes arrived in Guam in December 2007 as Vice Consul. She has recently been promoted to Foreign Service Officer II and was given the designation of Consul.
Senator Frank Blas Aguon, Jr., the principal sponsor who introduced the Resolution, accompanied by Senator Tina Muna-Barnes, Legislative Secretary of the Guam Senate, presented the resolution to Consul Cortes during the opening of the Consulate General's monthly exhibit last Friday, 12 April 2013.
Philippine Consul General to Guam, Hon. Bayani V. Mangibin, together with Consul Edgar Tomas Auxilian, were also on hand to witness the presentation.END
