24/09/2012: RELIEF EFFORTS BY LEADERS IN GUAM'S TELECOM AND HOTEL INDUSTRIES RAISE US$3000.00 FOR THE PHILIPPINE RED CROSS TO AID FLOOD VICTIMS IN THE PHILIPPINES

DOCOMO Pacific, a leading telecommunications company in Guam, in cooperation with the Hilton Guam Resort and Spa, LBC Express, MCV Broadband and the Pacific Daily News, raised a total of US$3000.00 for the relief efforts to assist the families and communities devastated by last month's flooding in the Philippines.
The amount represents the proceeds collected from the text campaign launched by DOCOMO and from the donations of the management and staff of the Hilton. Aside from the monetary donations, Hilton was also able to collect non-perishable food items and other relief goods that were sent to charitable organizations in the Philippines through LBC Express. A total of 65 balikbayan boxes filled with relief goods, which include those collected by the Filipino Community of Guam and National Office Supply, were also sent to the Philippines through LBC. MCV Broadband and the Pacific Daily News, on the other hand, provided free advertising space for the project, helping inform more people about the campaign.

Mr. Tom Valderrama, Chief Commercial Officer of DOCOMO Pacific and Ms. Crystal Sablan, Marketing Communications Manager of the Hilton Guam Resort and Spa, handed over the checks to Philippine Consul General to Guam, Hon. Bayani V. Mangibin, in a simple ceremony held at the Philippine Consulate General located at the ITC Building in Tamuning, Guam.
Joining Consul General Mangibin, Mr. Valderrama and Ms. Sablan during the turnover ceremony were Consul Edgar Tomas Auxilian, Vice Consul Maria Paz Cortes, DOCOMO Pacific's Public Relations Manager Anthony Corn, Hilton's Director of Human Resources Christy Cruz, and Ms. Lourissa Leon Guerrero, Assistant Marketing Manager of the Pacific Daily News.
Thus far, the Consulate General has already received a total of US$9,083.65 check donations for the Philippine Red Cross for the flood relief efforts.END
