CAVITE ASSOCIATION OF GUAM AND THE FILIPINO-AMERICAN PRESIDENTS CLUB OF GUAM DONATE TO THE PHILIPPINE RED CROSS TO AID FLOOD VICTIMS IN THE PHILIPPINES

On 17 September 2012, Ms. Gloria Ponce turned over two check donations amounting to US$260.65  and US$40.00 for the Philippine Red Cross to Philippine Consul General to Guam, Hon. Bayani V. Mangibin, for the benefit of families and communities displaced and devastated by last month's flooding in the Philippines.  The checks represent donations from the Cavite Association of Guam and from Spouses Leopoldo and Gloria Ponce, respectively.

As the former president of the Cavite Association of Guam, Mrs. Ponce informed Consul General Mangibin that, since many of its members have already passed on, the association has practically ceased operations.  She also stated that the donation represents the last remaining funds of the association, which was founded by former Philippine Consul and Principal Officer to Guam, Hon. Rizal G. Adorable.

Also present during the check presentation were (L-R) Vice Consul Maria Paz Cortes, Consul Edgar Tomas Auxilian, UP Alumni Association President Tessie Marcos and Mr. Jerry Marcos.

On 18 September 2012, the Filipino-American Presidents Club of Guam (FAPCG) also donated US$500.00 for the Philippine Red Cross to aid relief efforts for the monsoon rains (Habagat) flood victims.  The check donation was handed by FAPCG Chairwoman Ms. Gloria Baguinon (center) to Consul Edgar Tomas Auxilian.
