PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL IN AGANA LEADS THE COMMEMORATION OF THE
26TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE EDSA PEOPLE POWER REVOLUTION
The Philippine Consulate General in Agana commemorated the 26th Anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution with a flag-raising ceremony and short program that included a rendition of Bayan Ko by Ms. Shirley Trinidad and a turn-over ceremony of an EDSA-themed painting donated to the Consulate General by Mr. Marcial Pontillas of the Guam Filipino Artists (GFA). In his remarks, Consul General Mangibin stressed that, in 1986, Filipinos were able to show to the world that a revolution can be bloodless and peaceful and that change can come as long as the people are united. He further challenged Filipinos to unite once more by taking an active role in contributing to change and development for the Philippines.
