24/02/2012: 7th Ambassadors, Consuls General and Tourism Directors Tour to the Philippines

7TH AMBASSADORS, CONSULS GENERAL AND TOURISM DIRECTORS TOUR

TO THE PHILIPPINES

 

 

The Philippine Consulate General wishes to inform those interested to join the annual Ambassadors, Consuls General and Tourism Directors Tour (ACGTDT) to the Philippines that the Tour is scheduled to be held from 11 to 14 July 2012.

The ACGTDT is a project of the Philippine Foreign Service Posts in the United States and Canada, including the Philippine Consulates General in Guam and Saipan, in cooperation with representatives of the Department of Tourism assigned in key cities in North America.  It aims to promote the Philippines not only as a tourist destination but also as a viable investment option and/or retirement haven.  It caters to foreign nationals as well as to former Filipinos and dual citizens.  This year is the seventh time the project is being undertaken by the Philippine Embassies in Washington DC and in Ottawa, and by the Philippine Consulates in Agana, Chicago, Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Saipan, Vancouver and Toronto.

The tour package will include accommodation for 4 days and 3 nights, a visit to tourism sites in nearby provinces and a visit to the Malacañang Palace to have an audience and a photo opportunity with the President of the Philippines.

Last year, over 400 participants joined the ACGTDT, 40 of whom were from Guam.

While the details of the tour package are still being finalized, interested participants are encouraged to "save the date" or block off their calendars on the mentioned dates to avoid conflict with other travel plans.
