13/06/2011: Flag Raising Ceremony and Filipino Breakfast, Guam Reef Hotel

12 June 2011 – The Filipino Community on Guam celebrated the 113th Anniversary of Philippine Independence with a Flag-Raising Ceremony and Filipino breakfast hosted by the Guam Reef Hotel. The ceremony was attended by the officers and staff of the Philippine Consulate General in Agana, Guam, led by Consul Kerwin Orville Tate, officers and members of the Filipino Community of Guam and Government of Guam officials, including Lt. Gov. Ray Tenorio, senators Sam Mabini, Dennis Rodriguez, Tony Ada, Frank Blas, and Chris Duenas of the 31st Guam Legislature. Gen. Ben Paulino and a number of Filipino-American officers of the Guam National Guard also graced the event. The Filipino breakfast featured a sumptuous menu prepared by chefs from the world-class Plantation Bay Resort and Spa of Cebu, which has been Guam Reef Hotel’s partner for its June Filipino Food Festival for two consecutive years. Plantation Bay’s General Manager, Mr. Efren Belarmino, mentor of Guam Reef Hotel’s General Manager Eichi Koyama, was also present during the celebration.
