The community outreach aimed to disseminate information on and educate people in Guam about the rising global issue of human trafficking. Government of Guam offices such as the Office of the Attorney General and the Department of Education, as well as non-governmental institutions participated in the event.
The Consulate General and POLO-Saipan distributed information materials on Republic Act 9208 otherwise known as the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003 and flyers containing tips on how to recognize victims of trafficking. The materials contained Filipino translations as they are primarily intended to reach the Filipino immigrant and migrant worker communities on the island.END
