SANTO NIÃO GUAM: Fiesta Celebration

 

 

The Feast of Santo Niño-Guam 2000 was celebrated by Filipinos on Guam with a mass at the Dulce Nombre de Maria Cathedral-Basilica on 09 January 2011.  The mass was concelebrated by Archbishop Anthony S. Apuron of the Archdiocese of Agaña,  Bishop Leopoldo Tumulak, Military Ordinary from Cebu,  and  Filipino priests on Guam.

Filipinos brought their statues of Sto. Niño to be blessed during the mass.  A procession of the image of the Sto. Niño around the cathedral followed the mass.

The celebration continued with the presentation of the Ati-atihan, Sinulog and Dinagyang in Dededo, Guam.

Sponsors for the fiesta were the Aklan, Cebu, Iloilo International, Leyte-Samar and Capizeños associations of Guam.

The Officers and staff of the Consulate General, together with their families, participated in the celebration
